PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS IN NATURE

Photography Workshops in Nature

Workshops in Kackar Mountains with Turkish Photography Masters

Dear friends,

we have organised an exciting photography event this spring.  Immersed in the atmosphere of a vocational college, you will find yourself learning a wide spectrum of techniques, from exploring the details of your own camera and forming basic shootings to using more complicated camera techniques. On top of this, you will be practising your new skills during our field trips.

You will shoot the most beautiful sceneries in our homeland while having an entertaining and fun-filled training. The forests in Kackar Mountains are among the top 100 forests in the world that need urgent protection.  We will be staying at Ayder Plateau which is a popular tourist attraction with its magnificent green hills and waterfalls.

In order to increase the effectiveness of the training program we are limiting the number of our participants to maximum 10 people for each training session.  As the practical sessions will be held outside, you must be well-prepared against the rainy, windy or cold weather conditions as well as muddy or snowy road conditions.

4 Day Training Program

15 – 19 May 2019 or 22 – 26 May 2019

-“What does this button do?” Let’s become familiar with your full equipment.

  • How I can better use my camera,
  •  Using  today’s cameras more actively,
  • Which button does what,
  • choices for focusing,
  • Lenses and their effect on photographs.
  • Remote control,
  • Data transfer and instant sharing!

Our trainer will be explaining all these technical details, capabilities and limitations of cameras. Let there be no one who doesn’t know technical details of their cameras!

Photographs and then puts them together in software. And your macro is well focused all     over.

-Control of shutter speed – Long exposure

A practical session on the ancient stone bridge over Fırtına River by using tripods.

What difference long exposure makes to the photographs, especially if you have ND filters?

-Aperture control – Macro tracking

For instance, you are taking photographs of a butterfly, the foreground is clear and the background is blurred. May be, this is what you want, but if you would like to catch more details and your image to be clear, what you need is macro tracking. First, the camera scans all the best focus points and takes several photographs, second we put them together in software and finally your macro is well- focused all over.

-setting up a composition in nature and artificial lighting

You are surrounded by a beautiful view but, alone this may not be enough. If you can tweak the situation, for instance with a LED torch, you may be surprised by the results. To be able to take beautiful shots of the nature as it deserves, we are pushing the limits.

-Cameras can take videos as well!

These magical little tools have advanced capabilities to take videos. You can produce small but exciting work with basic composition knowledge. You can increase the excitement in your videos of festivals, concerts, handcrafting etc.  Also, don’t forget that videos get more likes in social media.

-Hyper lapse – Time lapse

You can produce fun clips with the consecutive images you take whether it is the clouds, the sun, the blooming flower or even when you are on the move. This is much easier and practical with today’s advanced technology and software.

NB. Please let us know if your camera does not support time-lapse.

-Introduction to stars, start rails and Milky Way photography

By now you have mastered time-lapse and now shooting star trails is child game if the weather permits. You may even shoot the Milky Way. We will have a simple telescope available. Anyone interested?

-Panoramic – Multi exposure

We are a bit stranger to this function of our cameras. When, where and under which conditions do we use this technique, what are the camera settings? Instead of boring you with a long winded theory, let’s apply this technique with practical examples.

-Drone

Don’t say you are not interested! You never know when you may need to use one. The technology has improved; you can get pocket size drones and use them straightforward.  A little bit of courage and a small budget may lead to a brand-new angle to your photography skill and awesome additions to your gallery.
